our Story

After having my daughter It became evident how impressionable young children can be. I realized  early on that it was very important for me to instil in her a love for her faith and beliefs and give her the tools to be proud of who she is. I found that one of the best ways to do this was through books. We attended some of the most exciting and theatrical storytimes at our local bookstore in San Francisco and I saw how books could come to life and spark such joy in children. I wanted books about Islam to spark that same level of excitement in her and other children, and thus Lunar Learners was born.

Why Prophet Stories

As I embarked on the journey of writing these stories, I was forced to assess what message I wanted to empart and how best to do it. Islam teaches a universal message of love and morality and  has provided us with remarkable characters in our Prophets. Often times these individuals are not accessible to our younger children as their stories are told in either too much detail, without age appropriate language and imagery or in ways that are just not fun. Thus my journey began.
