Free Isra Wal Miraj Printable

“Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al- Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.” (Quran 17:1)

On the 27th of Rajab, it is believed that our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), took a miraculous night journey. The Isra Wal Miraj refers to the two part journey. In the first part the angel Jibrail took the Prophet, on a Buraq, from Al Masjid Al Haram in Mecca to Al Masjid Al Aqsa in Jerusalem. In the second part of the journey it is believed that The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ascended to the heavens where he met several other great Prophets.

This is the first year I talked about this event in more detail with my children. Through The Prophet Series and other resources, they have started to develop a deeper connection to their Prophets. As a result the story of Al Isra Wal Miraj had a greater meaning to them. I saw first hand how recounting this story and completing this activity, created a desire to want to learn more about The Prophets. InshAllah through the continued remembrance and recounting of these stories accompanied with activities, it will help form a strong foundation for their future.

If you’re looking for a fun, easy way to introduce the Isra Wal Miraj to your child, then this free printable is a great visual resource to get you talking about the various steps involved during the night journey taken by Prophet Muhammad. You can tell your child as little or as much as you wish about each stage, depending on their age and what you want them to take away.
